Last weekend the dorm kids went to Billings for the Acquire the Fire conference. The kids enjoyed riding in the school's new bus. They appreciated being able to go and all the support that was given to them by the community and the churches.
Next Friday, December 20th, is the last day of school for Christmas break. The dorm will be closed from December 20th until January 5th. Merry Christmas!

This weekend we had three students in Glasgow taking their SAT. Several students went to a local family to work on Saturday. They were working to earn money to pay for their Acquire the Fire tickets. Acquire the Fire is the weekend of December 7th. We will drive the bus to Billings. We're excited about the trip. The teenagers of our community go each year.
This weekend I have cut the hair of several kids. Looking back, I cut the hair of someone from Thailand, Korea, China and Sweden. Cutting their hair gives me the opportunity to talk to them about whatever they want to talk about. I'm glad my mother taught me how to cut hair. She was a cosmetologist for years. God knew 30 years ago that I would be here in Luster needing those skills. It's a good thing I have those skills, because most of the salons close by the time we can get to them.
Today is the birthday of Silas from China. He's 18. In the next 2 weeks we will celebrate the birthdays of Robin from Sweden, Kimberly from New York and Serena from Las Vegas.
We are planning to go bowling this Saturday. Within the next month, we plan to go ice skating.

The cold weather has arrived. We are anxiously waiting for snow. Some of our students have never seen snow. Mayaa, from Mexico, said she can't wait to see the snow for her first time. Snow isn't new to our student, Robin, from Sweden. He said it snows a lot in Sweden.
This month the dorm students and staff have enjoyed visiting different churches for their annual harvest meals. We visited the MB and the EMB churches. Each church has special speakers during the worship time. It is encouraging to see how God is working around the world through missionaries and people who are called by God to to His work.
Nine of the dorm students are part the volleyball team. Serena, Rachael, Morgan & Gabby are players on the team. Mawin runs the video camera. Kim and Kourtnii both take statistics of the players. Jacques spends many days during practice serving the balls to the players. Meg is one of the managers. We all enjoy going to the games and encouraging our players. The volleyball season will wrap up in November. We all appreciate Coach Mary Zerbe and the time she spends working with the players.
